This controversy takes advantage of the egregiously short memory of young people. I spent a lifetime watching Israel defend itself against aggression, a tiny Jewish state in a sea of hostile Arab nations. Young people venerate victims but Israel has always fought its own wars with great courage, so it doesn’t merit sympathy or support. If October 7 happened to you, what measures would you take to defend your family?
Me too Tom. The IDF is now targeting journalists, targeting Palestinians and talking about their strategy to completely destroy Gaza - who are we to support this and PM Netanyahu? No more funding this.
like a phoenix. they will rise. once they decide to ditch their leaders and decide that women are equal. and dont need to be subjugated...etc. but I wont hold my breath..
60000 thousand dead, although surely an exaggeration, out of 2 million is hardly a genocide. But the point is irrelevant. Both sides state their intent to wipe out the other side. Then both have the justification to do what ever is necessary for survival. Which the winner will do and the loser will be confined to the heap of the forgotten dead.
Civility and morals have never won a war. Had Biden not interfered the Israel Hamas war would have been settled in a year or less. Biden caused the same lengthening in Ukraine, costing more lives and greater destruction than if he had just butted out. There is one goal when in a war, win, at any cost.
I’d be interested in the total number of Palestinians killed vs. the total number of Israelis killed since the founding of Israel. Any idea? My guess is that it is on the order of 50:1 or 100:1. Israeli right wingers evidently wish it was 1000:1 or more. With Trump in the WH, they may get their way.
What a god forsaken conflict. How long can this go on? So sad.
Doesn’t matter if Hamas and other terrorist gangs want to get rid of all Jews. I’m pretty sure Israel never stated all Palestinians had to go. But since no other Arab state will take them in, it seems even their own could care less. And why is that so? All Egypt has to do is open their crossing with Gaza. If they aren’t concerned, why should anyone else be concerned?
Let’s not forget the Abraham accords Israel is signing with other Arab states. Pretty much shows all they want to do is live their lives in peace.
The author must be a lib. Headline suggests the mouthpieces represent the masses. That’s his groupthink. On the contrary, MAGA are not sheep, we are free thinkers.
Until hamas releases its hostages Israel is conducting a just war. And remember what hamas did -- unprovoked attack on Israel from a territory completely turned over to the palestinians in 2005, replete with murder, rape, immolations, beheadings, corpse f***ing, and hostage-taking. And this was cheered and participated in by gazans, until they found they were being used as human shields, and worse by hamas. Israel needs to be supported and allowed to rid the earth of the barbarians of hamas.
That's hard to believe. The war end if hamas stopped starving and torturing te hostaes, disarmed and disbanded. hamas won't, so Israel is right to hunt them down and kill all of them.
I think it's important to note that Americans can see what's going on with their own eyes. I have no problem with "Israel" as a country, but it sure is suspicious that they seem to own our political class -- to the point where they bomb Iran knowing that we will have to come 'finish the job.'
The entire Epstein saga ONLY makes sense if he was part of an intelligence op, and we can see who was likely behind it. (With the permission of the CIA, of course.)
As long as we keep acting in Israel's best interest ahead of our own, Trump supporters (and non-supporters) will continue getting annoyed. But since DC is owned by AIPAC and related special interests, going down that path seems inevitable.
Same old protocols of Zion bs. Do you have any idea how few Jews there are in the world? Perhaps people support Israel because that's the side of morality and not because we're a bunch of Fagens who rule the world. Get real!
"Perhaps people support Israel because that's the side of morality"
Perhaps. But if you step outside your immediate environs and do some actual discovery, you may learn some new things. (In Western journalism, discovery was once a prerequisite to assertion, but sadly this is no longer universal.) The key is to listen with an open mind.
For sure. It only makes sense since the population of Jews in the world number under 16 million that they control everything. I mean, how could your comment be construed as anything but true. Lol
Here's a little info from chatgpt (not always reliable, but this seems close to the mark) about the U.S.'s surprisingly small size and yet huge influence in the world. The U.S. of which Israel couldn't commit it's crimes against humanity without its Big Daddy backing. Try to keep an open mind here, if that's possible. Criticizing the United States or Israeli governments is not anti-American or anti-Semitic. It is not attacking individual Americans or individual Jews. But if you still insist on making that part of your argument than, well, you're not really seeking the truth. Are you?
While the U.S. has only about 4–6% of the world’s population (depending on the year), its global influence is vastly outsized compared to its population share. Here’s a breakdown of how that plays out across different domains:
1. Military Power
The U.S. has the largest military budget in the world — about $877 billion in 2022 — nearly 40% of all global military spending.
It maintains 750+ overseas military bases in more than 80 countries.
The U.S. Navy dominates global sea lanes, and U.S. Air Force capabilities allow power projection anywhere in the world within hours.
NATO, heavily U.S.-led, extends influence across Europe and indirectly shapes security in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
2. Economic Power & Resources
The U.S. dollar is the world’s primary reserve currency (used in ~59% of global foreign-exchange reserves). This gives the U.S. enormous leverage via sanctions, trade policies, and the SWIFT banking system.
Through the IMF and World Bank (where it’s the largest shareholder), the U.S. has disproportionate influence on global development and debt policies.
3. Political & Diplomatic Leverage
Permanent UN Security Council seat with veto power over major international decisions.
Often sets the tone for international coalitions, sanctions regimes, and “rules-based order” language.
Uses diplomatic carrots (foreign aid, trade deals) and sticks (sanctions, tariffs, travel bans) to shape other nations’ behavior.
4. Media & Cultural Influence
U.S. media companies (Disney, Netflix, CNN, The New York Times, etc.) dominate global news, entertainment, and cultural exports.
Hollywood, pop music, fashion, and sports help frame U.S. norms and values as aspirational for many societies.
English, boosted by U.S. media and tech, remains the lingua franca of diplomacy, science, and business.
5. Information & Technology
Big Tech (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta) shapes global communication, data storage, and algorithmic visibility — meaning much of the world’s online discourse flows through U.S.-controlled platforms.
Silicon Valley’s innovations set global standards for tech infrastructure, often embedding U.S. legal and cultural assumptions into software and platforms.
6. Soft Power & Narrative Control
The U.S. excels at framing geopolitical conflicts in moral terms (“democracy vs. authoritarianism”) and building coalitions around its framing.
Think tanks, NGOs, and academic institutions (Harvard, Yale, Stanford) shape elite opinion worldwide, often training foreign leaders.
Global NGOs and media funded partly by U.S. foundations (Ford, Gates, Open Society) influence policy debates from climate change to human rights.
In short, despite its small share of the global population, the U.S. wields outsized military, economic, cultural, and informational power — allowing it to heavily influence (or pressure) global politics, resources, and narratives. Critics often call this a form of global hegemony; U.S. officials tend to call it leadership in the rules-based international order.
Name calling, denial, and demonizing is not original and doesn't address any specific point of contention that you seem to have but don't specify or react to with a specific counterpoint. Sounds a lot like what can be seen on most cable news or talk shows. And people being massacred and starved and trapped in the rubble that Israeli bombs have turned almost all of Gaza into sure does look like crimes against humanity are being committed. Unless one doesn't believe that Palestinians are human.
Okay. So what. Can you dispute any of the points that it makes on this particular subject? I do think that you get the point. It's hard not to get.
Unless you don't want to get it. I know that there's a lot of stuff that I don't want to get that I've had to submit to getting. That's what dialogue is supposed to do. Get people to listen to arguments that they don't want to believe. So then maybe something will lead to a peaceful resolution. After the difficult process of a change of consciousness. The covid tyranny/lunacy did much of that to me. I wasn't ready for it. I didn't like it. But I can't go back now. Life is full of surprises. If you're open to them.
And I wasn’t name-calling or demonizing. I just called something you said imbecilic.
The moral lens with which you look at war has to be different than the one with which you look at terror. AND you have to understand the war being fought.
Israel’s war, as awful as the outcomes have been, is just, measured and fair by all standards of war.
1) they are facing an enemy that has no moral standards. That is perfectly happy and in fact, intent on killing as many of the people they lead as it takes to win the propaganda war with a western left that wrongly believes in moral equivalency and proportionality.
2) they are facing an enemy that diverted billions of dollars in aid money, supplemented by money from Iran, to build hundreds of miles of murder tunnels under civilian homes, schools, and hospitals from which they launched, and they intended to continue launching, murder missions into Israel.
3) Israel had no moral reason not to attempt to destroy as many of those tunnels as they possibly could as the soldiers munitions they contained. And they did this after fair warning to the civilian occupants, which Hamas did not disseminate and forced people not to heed, so it’s propaganda spewing Health Ministry and Qatari owned Al Jazeera could stream the death, destruction and false body counts everywhere as red meat for anti-semites the world over.
4) Palestine is a fake people, fabricated from whole cloth by Yasser Arafat in 1964.
4a The invented history of the region is completely false.
So if there’s a paradigm shift that you need to consider, this might be it.
All of these points have counterarguments that have been put forward by opponents of Israel. If I switch to anti-Zionist websites, I know can find everything you identified here refuted, thoroughly and with sophistication, point by point.
How does today's disinterested audience choose between the "he-said she-said"?
Yes, I do believe that the American Empire hegemony (along with its vassal states like Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, etc. and its alliances with ISIS and Alkaida, etc. and its history of promoting and committing acts of terror and overthrowing governments is a bad thing (think CIA, MI6, Mossad).
I think a lot of people in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, the West Bank, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Panama, etc. might agree. And we can include Vietnam, Cambodia, the Congo, and now Birkina Faso too. There's plenty other examples.
One suggestion I would have is to read "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" (the updated 2nd Edition) by John Perkins, just to get your feet a little wet on the subject.
Next: "And I wasn’t name-calling or demonizing. I just called something you said imbecilic."
That pretty much says it all, doesn't it? Must I comment on this strange reasoning or logic or whatever it is?
Next: "Israel’s war, as awful as the outcomes have been, is just, measured and fair by all standards of war.
1) they are facing an enemy that has no moral standards. That is perfectly happy and in fact, intent on killing as many of the people they lead as it takes to win the propaganda war with a western left that wrongly believes in moral equivalency and proportionality."
Here's where we might come to some kind of agreement. Let's find out if your theory is true. And allow all journalists in who can and want to report on what is actually happening on the ground level instead of banning all of them or assassinating the ones that are there trying to do just that. Like Israel just did a few days ago to 5 journalists from Al Jazeera. But the Israeli government says they were targeted because they were Hamas. They said it, so it must be true. What were you saying about propaganda again?
Next: 2) "they are facing an enemy that diverted billions of dollars in aid money, supplemented by money from Iran, to build hundreds of miles of murder tunnels under civilian homes, schools, and hospitals from which they launched, and they intended to continue launching, murder missions into Israel."
I think you forgot to mention the millions/billions diverted/supplemented from Bibi and his crowd in order to weaken the influence of the PA. Why would they do that? Why would they give all that American tax payer dough to these immoral beyond repair terrorists with "no moral standards, intent on killing as many of the people they lead as it takes to win the propaganda war with a western left that wrongly believes in moral equivalency and proportionality."
And Israel, one of if not the best surveillance and security and spy states in the world must have known that all that American tax payer moolah was being dug into and wasted away into murder tunnels for years.
So why didn't they do anything to stop it?
I don't know what the reason was, but it must have been one which involved high moral standards because it came from Bibi and his crowd.
It's also kind of curious that when Israel attacked Iran and then Iran attacked back that they found all kinds of Israeli military stuff that was being targeted that was hidden among its own civilian population centers from where they launched their own murderous missions.
So that's where Iran attacked. Was Israel using its own people as human shields? Just like Hamas?
Hamas does not get a pass on this. But neither does Israel.
Next: 3) "Israel had no moral reason not to attempt to destroy as many of those tunnels as they possibly could as the soldiers munitions they contained. And they did this after fair warning to the civilian occupants, which Hamas did not disseminate and forced people not to heed, so it’s propaganda spewing Health Ministry and Qatari owned Al Jazeera could stream the death, destruction and false body counts everywhere as red meat for anti-semites the world over."
Okay so how does starving the population and sniping off hungry people reaching for food help to destroy those murder tunnels? I mean, war is evil and terrible no matter how you cut it, so I understand how Israel wants to beat the evil Hamas in its war against them. But where does the starvation fit in? Or the destruction, what is it now about 80%, of the buildings have to do with the tunnels? Why is it that there's only about 4 places that are set up now to go to try to get food, when before, when the UN was in charge there were hundreds? And don't forget about water, medicine, working hospitals, mental health, a pandemic of PTSD, journalists to tell us about all this stuff?
I see. All this stuff being exposed is just red meat. For all of the anti-semites.
Did you know that Palestinians are actually Semitic people?
Does that make the people who are trying to eliminate them anti-semites?
I doubt if many of the targeted human beings care much. Most of them just want to live. In peace.
But that's a whole other subject, eh?.
Maybe.
Next: 4) "Palestine is a fake people, fabricated from whole cloth by Yasser Arafat in 1964."
Well, at least you call them people. But are they human people?
Another reading suggestion: Read a lot more history, written by people who actually study history. Maybe even some journalists who do their own research (although I know you're not supposed to do that).
But try to discern which writers are more honest, with integrity, have no predetermined agendas, etc. So it takes some work. It takes a lot of stripping away of tribal thinking. But nobody ever said that finding out what's real or true is easy. Well, I'm sure somebody probably said something like that. Just don't read their shit.
A few more reading suggestions: Anything by Thich Nhat Hanh or Richard Rohr.
Next: 4a "The invented history of the region is completely false."
I agree. We agree. See!!!!
We can agree after all!!!
Next: "So if there’s a paradigm shift that you need to consider, this might be it."
"It only makes sense since the population of Jews in the world number under 16 million that they control everything. "
Could you explain the psychological mechanism inside the antisemite's head that repeatedly comes to this conclusion, across time, across generations, even in the face of punishment by the powers that be? Seriously, the specific psychological disorder one would cite, as knowledge of that would certainly lead to an actual cure, wouldn't it? I hear a lot of identification of antisemitism, but very little direction how to eliminate it. I don't understand why that doesn't come to bear in political discussions.
Remember the “peace dividend”, the result of fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War? Everyone was sure that we could finally invest in fixing all our internal problems. Social programs for everyone! Didn’t work out as anticipated.
The mullahs are building nukes?
Huh. Well, get back to me after we turn every Democrat-run craphole into a shining city on the hill.
I get not wanting to get America involved in every problem. But radical Islam involves us whether we like it or not.
I am not American, however much disillusionment and mistrust of the US Govt and it's agencies is justified and supported by historic evidence. Can't say I trust my own political class here either, especially after Covid tbh.
Regarding Israel, I think it's fair to say that they have likely provided intel to Western countries that have thwarted potential attacks.
The West fought in WW2 to defeat the Nazis so I don't think we or they wish to have a repeat of the fate of the Jewish people in that period.
Repeating a genocide on the Jewish people however is exactly what the 'Palestinian cause' is all about. It is not a land issue and that's why a 'two state solution' is an exercise in futility.
There needs to be some balance found in supporting national interests and the interests of a foreign nation.
I suggest that Israel's fate is potentially the West's fate as well, in the long term.
Acting in Israel’s best interest IS in our best interest. Israel is and will forever be the ‘canary in the coal mine’, if it dies Western culture dies. It is already dying in Europe and in America’s elite universities.
And to be honest, if the Mossad was working Epstein, I am totally fine with that. If you’re a pedophile, you need to be doing the bidding of people with higher moral clarity.
Had any other President backed up tough talk with appropriate actions the world would have been a much safer place. Just like if the last Presidents understood the terrorist said no two state solution. Yet what did they keep pushing for. It might be reality now with the adding of the Arab league to say such things. But until now it was a stupid and irrational position to take.
Nobody has been turning against Israel except the racists. Israel has done everything right and been far too measured and kind to the Gazans because they have only been the Gazan's only friend and still are. And as time goes on Israel looks better and better and Hamas and the entire Muslim world looks worse.
I mean the blood and soil ethno-supremacist and apartheid state of Israel, as you well know. But I thought I should repeat it for the Zionist Holocaust Deniers.
It is interesting to rhe correlation between bigotry and illiteracy. Those, like Oaulette, who persist in denying the reality, that there is no "holocaust" against Gazans, are not really different from those who deny the holocaust committed by the Nazis against Jews.
You have not established the idea of Zionism you are peddling. You are starting with a conclusion because you have no evidence. You can only offer circular reasoning and bigotry.
Your use of Holocaust language is ignorant and disgusting. The Nazis wiped out the world Jewish population to the point that it still hasn't recovered (recent study). The number of Palestinians goes up and up. There is no Palestinian Holocaust. You are just a useful idiot of the Hamas butchers. What a revolting group to ally yourself with.
Predictable BS and once again trying to hide behind the Nazi Holocaust, which has been so debased by Zionists using it as cover for genocide that no sane person ever wants to hear about it from a Jew ever again - it's pure hypocrisy. There is no free pass for Jews today to perpetrate a Holocaust on Palestinians because Germans perpetrated one on Jews and Romanis.
You are a disgusting cheerleader for the Zionist Holocaust and history will not be kind to you and your ilk. Far worse than the Good Germans, who could plausibly deny what was going on. This is being broadcast in living color INCLUDING by IDF butchers proud of their warcrimes.
Your Goebbelian claims are transparent, and the world rejects them. Only your genocidal bubble goes for them.
Your posts are nothing but hate, ignorance and vicious sloganeering in defense of one of the most brutal, hate-filled and deceitful groups on earth. I'm done with you.
Judith is absolutely correct Paulette. I can only hope that, at some point, your brain begins to function again. If anything is a blot on the earth, it is your feeble mind. The tragedy is there are others that think like you. Sloganeering...that means a lot, coming from you.
You really are that stupid. You truly want as many Gazan's to die as possible. It must be difficult getting through life with an IQ of 50. But stupidity breeds racism.
You really are that genocidal. But after all, to be a genocidal Zionist you just need to be filled with hate and bigotry. And Zionists dont find that difficult at all.
Not sure I would go that far (entire Muslim world looking worse) because the Abraham Accords are a huge sign of hope, and I think many of the Muslim nations hate Iran more than they hate or used to hate Israel.
True but it is more that the Arab world is against Hamas and hate Iran. The many countries that the Muslims have colonized are all apartheid stars and they are committing genocide against all non-Mislime in those countries and it continues to put the Muslims in a bad light. As they should be.
Okay they didn't immediately wipe Gaza off the map in the first 24 hours after October 7 and they have fed the Gazans throughout the war. Both are mistakes but Israel is run by good people who love life and humans and civil rights and care about all human life and they felt that a measured war and taking care of the people that are dying and suffering under the Hamas occupation was the right thing to do.
Responding to my question with a twist and a smirk -- and notably, refusing to answer it -- doesn't accomplish anything positive for your cause. It is instead another piece contributing to the root problems. It may seem funny to you and those in your bubble, but millions of Americans are now reviewing this with the appropriate seriousness. So herewith is something for our audience.
As you know, I was thinking of points that would resonate with Israel's critics (as noted in my second post below), to siphon off the energy that is contributing to the judgment of people by their birth culture and other immutable characteristics. That is, admit Israel has some faults, recognize we're all human, and that no groups are morally superior to others.
The complaint that Israel didn't kill more thoroughly doesn't accomplish that. You want to persuade people with your postings, not preach to the choir, right? Gloating about power is not the way to persuade people that anti-Zionism, and antisemitism, is wrong. Do you want to defeat these things, or fester them? If the latter, why?
I imagine then we can inform all those idiots descending into antisemitism the very few correct reasons for criticizing Israel, and also the correct way to do so. Maybe you know the short list of experts on this who could properly inform us how to do this?
I'm thinking that only then can we open up the discussion to wider group, to get widespread buy-in, shepherded by the experts of course. Then we can hopefully siphon off the apparently noxious gases of closed-loops (e.g. censorship) that, in my mind, seems to be contributing to the currently uncontrolled explosion of antisemitism.
I decided to support Trump long before Bannon, Carlson, etc were well known. A just war, designed to minimize casualties, is not likely to be a quick war. Hamas started this, war. There will be no just peace until Hamas surrenders.
The postwar consensus promoted an opening of society to ward off what Reno refers to as the “strong gods”: the deeply felt convictions and beliefs that animated Nazism and fascism. These included patriotism, nationalism, and shared cultural heritage, which all needed to be preemptively weakened to ensure that the horrors of WWII could never happen again. Religion, the family, and traditional norms would also become suspect due to the strong passions and loyalties they could inspire.
----------
Compare:
"Already we are breaking down the habits of thought which have survived from before the Revolution. We have cut the links between child and parent, and between man and man, and between man and woman. No one dares trust a wife or a child or a friend any longer. But in the future there will be no wives and no friends. Children will be taken from their mothers at birth, as one takes eggs from a hen. The sex instinct will be eradicated. Procreation will be an annual formality like the renewal of a ration card. We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now. There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother."
"patriotism, nationalism, and shared cultural heritage, [and] [r]eligion, the family, and traditional norms ... all needed to be preemptively weakened to ensure that the horrors of WWII could never happen again. ..."
Exactly! I stopped in my tracks when read that. I mean, WTF?!
I never learned that this was the "postwar consensus" in any history course I had in school '60-'80s. Seems like quite a bit more going on here than simply "Never Again", for "consensus" TPTB to make that extrapolation. Hmmm....
Propaganda is a magnificent weapon in war. I am amazed when people, who are warned to leave because the building they are in will be bombed. I am even more amazed when the press and politicians buy the news from a group that started the war, has found to be less than credible and repeatedly is found to be false. Goebbels would be proud, his acolytes are winning again.
It is really sad that once again Jews are demonised for two mutually exclusive errors. We are demonized by one side (Democrats) for being to assertive and aggressive in their own defence (in Israel) and by the other side (Republicans) for claiming status as victims of discrimination.
This is reminiscent of Jews being blamed for communism and capitalism before WWII.
I just wish people were a little bit more aware of the history of antisemitism, and more attentive to the facts.
Michael, your essay needs some Occam’s razor. Complex speculative assumptions aside about social forces affecting Gen Z disaffection towards Israel, the simple explanation rings true. They saw defenseless children and women shredded in living color, journalists assassinated, entire cities turned to rubble and were REPULSED.
Young people are right to turn away from victim worship. As we have seen, nothing is more destructive to a healthy society.
So how is it that they support the perpetual victims who have demanded the world support them for 70 years? Who have taken the billions given for that purpose and produced nothing but tunnels, terrorism and plots for revenge?
Yes, but somehow they have managed to get the top 1% to not only believe but fight for obviously irrational propositions such as the trans women are women because they believe themselves to be women
How did they get there? If the top 1% can be so thoroughly duped to believe such obvious falsehoods, not to mention the admission committees and administrators who brought and kept them there, well... I mean, what hope is there for the large chunks of the rest of America somehow getting mesmerized?
Is war the answer to fight antisemitism? If so, what kind of war would it be? Some kind of hybrid war, maybe?
I’ve wondered for years how schools have managed to suppress the “common sense” gene that most kids exhibit at an early age. I wish I knew the answer.
And maybe our hope does rest in the large chunk of America that hasn’t been exposed to whatever it is, and still believes that men can’t be women and 2 + 2 =4.
Accusations of antisemitism haven't backfired, they've just been drowned out by the absurb support for the terrorist organization, Hamas. Antisemitism rises every time the world is about to have the come-aparts. It's rising.....
This Trump supporter is not turning away from Israel!
Older people too. That said, Israel should finish the job.
I saw a headline that Israel is in talks to resettle Palestinians to South Sudan which sounds like an enlightened move.
I support Israel.
I’m turning away. I’m a boomer and I can recognize genocide when I see it.

You're more than welcome to support Israel all you like.
The problem I have is paying for your support.
Speak Farsi and no the Quran do you? Do you not believe them when they say convert or die? Only a fool would ignore such declarations, again.
U.S. corporations dominate key sectors: tech (Apple, Microsoft, Google), finance (J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs), food & agriculture (Cargill, Archer Daniels Midland), and defense (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon).
Blather. And Israel is not committing crimes against humanity that’s just imbecilic.
And it is leadership. Good God, if not us who? China, Russia, the idiots in Brussels? Or maybe OPEC?
Name calling, denial, and demonizing is not original and doesn't address any specific point of contention that you seem to have but don't specify or react to with a specific counterpoint. Sounds a lot like what can be seen on most cable news or talk shows. And people being massacred and starved and trapped in the rubble that Israeli bombs have turned almost all of Gaza into sure does look like crimes against humanity are being committed. Unless one doesn't believe that Palestinians are human.
"Not always reliable" is an understatement.
Okay.
Please don’t act like this is a bad thing.
I don't understand the comment.
In reference to your ChatGPT extract.
Okay. Where to start.
Uh. I think I'll pass. If you don't mind.
It involves us a whole lot more if we're funding and/or dropping bombs.
That would be the rational way of looking at it. But radical Islamists in control of countries and weapons are not rational actors.
How about after we pay off our ever growing 37 trillion dollar debt, then we'll see if we have enough money to help meddle in Israel's affairs?
Exactly. This also goes to funding the cleanup and rebuilding of the other side. Not our circus, not our monkeys.
It is not an either or situation. As goes Israel, so goes western civilization, and that is not hyperbole.
The AIPAC mantra is virtually a blood liable at this point.
Who wouldn't sex traffic children in order to get a little more political power?
Had any other President backed up tough talk with appropriate actions the world would have been a much safer place. Just like if the last Presidents understood the terrorist said no two state solution. Yet what did they keep pushing for. It might be reality now with the adding of the Arab league to say such things. But until now it was a stupid and irrational position to take.
Nobody has been turning against Israel except the racists. Israel has done everything right and been far too measured and kind to the Gazans because they have only been the Gazan's only friend and still are. And as time goes on Israel looks better and better and Hamas and the entire Muslim world looks worse.
Gaslight on. The world sees that Israel is merely the Jewish Nazi state, and Zionism is Jewish Nazism.
By Nazi state did you mean Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iran, Mali, Mauritania, Libya, Somalia, etc?
I mean the blood and soil ethno-supremacist and apartheid state of Israel, as you well know. But I thought I should repeat it for the Zionist Holocaust Deniers.
It is interesting to rhe correlation between bigotry and illiteracy. Those, like Oaulette, who persist in denying the reality, that there is no "holocaust" against Gazans, are not really different from those who deny the holocaust committed by the Nazis against Jews.
It is interesting to note the correlation between supporters of Israel and genocidal Zionism. It's 100%!
Actually, just saying Zionism would do - given it is a genocidal ethnosupremacist ideology.
Also, gaslight on.
Your posts are nothing but hateful, ignorant and vicious sloganeering in defense of the genocidal racist state of Israel - a blot on the earth.
Judith is absolutely correct Paulette. I can only hope that, at some point, your brain begins to function again. If anything is a blot on the earth, it is your feeble mind. The tragedy is there are others that think like you. Sloganeering...that means a lot, coming from you.
Yes Hamas is trying to gaslight the world. All the racists like you are gaslighting but that is what stupid ignorant racists do.
It must be galling to find that the whole world - other than fellow genocidal Zionists - knows your hasbara is all lies!
"Israel has done everything right"
When Israel does something wrong -- I mean, we're all human -- could you tell me what is the protocol for identifying it?
It is not gloating about power. You clearly do not understand anything about the Middle East or Israel.
You're still avoiding my original question, which has zero to do with Middle East or Israeli history.
It absolutely does. And not just a little. 100%.
What do you think? I'm just grasping here...
I decided to support Trump long before Bannon, Carlson, etc were well known. A just war, designed to minimize casualties, is not likely to be a quick war. Hamas started this, war. There will be no just peace until Hamas surrenders.
or are eliminated
Hmmm....
And I certainly appreciate the comparison you made here.
Alex writing here, actually, if you missed the byline.
Sorry Alex. But yeah young people use social media and have seen horrors live streamed. Truth’s out.
Young people are right to turn away from victim worship. As we have seen, nothing is more destructive to a healthy society.
So how is it that they support the perpetual victims who have demanded the world support them for 70 years? Who have taken the billions given for that purpose and produced nothing but tunnels, terrorism and plots for revenge?
religion. that is all.. and blind adherence...and ignorance
That's a good question. Why do they do that? I'm very interested in properly understanding this.
My guess is that they are parroting what they have been conditioned to say. Not a lot of actual thought going on there.
Even in Ivy League schools? Seems pretty hard to shut down thinking that completely for people from the top 1% intellectually.
They're not. A few very vocal people but MAGA is strongly pro Israel. Maybe your own feelings are tinting your perception.
Accusations of antisemitism haven't backfired, they've just been drowned out by the absurb support for the terrorist organization, Hamas. Antisemitism rises every time the world is about to have the come-aparts. It's rising.....
While I am saddened by it, this piece rings true.
Thank you for this excellent analysis and overview .
Aaaand this is Exhibit A of why Public is the only Substack for which I pay a subscription. Thank you for the marvelous analysis.
