Michael Shellenberger is not suicidal

Keep going Michael- these agencies need to be exposed

Trumps gonna blow up the deep state. He’s doing this so that people goes “up in arms,” just like this episode purports. Epstein is more than child sex trafficking- as bad as that is- it is much wider than Epstein. It is international and involves not just the doj and the fbi- but the CIA and the NSA. If Epstein has blackmailed international people and leaders then this becomes a major matter of national security, because this is international. One of the major agencies will release the findings, after enough clamoring for the findings reaches a feverish pitch and good journalists, like you, Mr Shellenberger, keep demanding it. Maybe I’m giving Trump too much credit but this is something right out of his playbook and I wouldn’t put it past him.

Apparently, The President has been following court orders, which he was informed of after the promise he campaigned on. He didn’t seem to happy about it, but shut the conversation down at the WH dinner.

Michelle Dostie's avatar

I listened to Professor Alan Dershowitz (part of Epstein’s defense team) first, interviewed by Sean Spicer. He is aware of everyone on the List, and why the names are not allowed to be released. The Court will not allow the names to be released. He swore to God with his hand raised. He mentioned that there are many people named who could be innocent in this international bribery scandal, which would ruin their lives to be connected falsely. He did mention Intelligence agencies. My assumption now is that the President and his team are now likewise bound from releasing information on this, and that explains the silence. 🤐

Joe Bruno's avatar

So then, why not come out and say so. If there is a court order as you describe, why don't the Pres and the JD simply produce the order for our edification? Transparency is the MAGA Way! Or the Way to MAGA.

Michelle Dostie's avatar

That is my question too. Why was the President not informed as soon as he mentioned unsealing on the campaign? I get the sense he was informed recently, as he shut up the journalist in the WH, and Pam Bondi.

Michelle Dostie's avatar

Why wasn’t the Chief Executive informed as soon as he campaigned on this? My question too. I did read one other journalist release this info.

Michelle Dostie's avatar

DOJ requested, but both courts denied. The public’s need to read the closed case is not sufficient to release information that would harm victims or falsely accused.

Coco McShevitz's avatar

How in the hell can there be “hundreds of hours of footage of victims” and also “no evidence for new charges against perpetrators”? Like, do these videos only show victims and not perps? I am astonished they would come out with something so obviously contradictory and implausible, make it make sense.

Anti-Hip's avatar

"Like, do these videos only show victims and not perps?"

And it's not as if it's just some kind of random capture of participants. It seems the *entire point* of Epstein keeping a library of videos is to show the perps, even if that were, inconceivably, just for Epstein's (and friends') own jollies.

BookWench's avatar

It's almost as if we're expected to believe that Epstein was the only perp, and since now he is (allegedly) dead, the whole issue should be dropped.

Coco McShevitz's avatar

Yes, I’m sure all those wealthy and connected men were just there to sip margaritas and shoot the shit

MCL's avatar

There needs to be a specific ask. For example, the top five (most occurrences) video taped perps of underage sex are revealed.

Michelle Dostie's avatar

I don’t think it is acceptable or legal to show videos of girls or women (or anyone) who is a victim compromised without legal consent. I knew that would stay in the file for good.

JanetS's avatar

I trust the people who call out bad behaviors on both the sides. I trust Micheal and Alex to speak wisdom we need to hear.

Are Bondi and Patel calling the shots on such a case?

Trump effectively ended his presidency. He did in 6 months what the deep state failed to do in more than 10 years...

If I may add: the Epstein is at its root a huge financial crime case, that's been going on for decades. The guy was moving and hiding money offshore for its clients when he was a Bear Stearns partner already. He kept doing that after he left Towers Financial Corporation and started his own asset management firm. It seems it's only when he reached a certain level of wealth that his perversion took over, as it could afford it in every sense of the term.

Knowing where the cash's stashed is, to these people - his "clients" - a more potent leverage than any compromising video.

But it is unthinkable that the FBI and the CIA did not keep track of what he was doing.

Dave hall's avatar

I don’t think there’s really enough people to care about this that would end Donald Trump’s presidency. It’s great to talk about and speak about but nobody really cares that much.

Pascal Clérotte's avatar

I wouldn't bet on that. He promised to release those files and deal with the deep state. He also promised no more war, and he attacked Iran. It has an impact on public opinion.

BookWench's avatar

He also promised mass deportations, and now he's talking about exempting illegal aliens in certain occupations from deportations.

Noam Deplume, Jr. (look,at,me)'s avatar

there ARE really enough people. We don't say "there's people"

BookWench's avatar

Good point.

There are a lot of crimes here.

I heard Schweitzer yesterday commenting on reports that "Only recently did JPMorgan notify the U.S. Department of Treasury that there had been over $1 billion in transactions at the bank related to Epstein’s human trafficking dating back 16 years." This was in a 2023 article in Forbes.

But now we're told, "Nothing to see here. Move along."

Pascal Clérotte's avatar

Yep. There is nothing to see because the Epstein may take down Wall Street and the Israel-US relationship.

Boris Petrov's avatar

Their boss ORDERED them to do that — because E-files would markedly increase “antisemitism” 😂😂🤡🤡

Ross Thacker's avatar

Spot on as usual Michael. Thank you in advance for continuing to dig. The CIA, NSA, and FBI et al. must have some serious dirt on some big fish in the US. How so many people can know and nobody talks is beyond me......

Sea Sentry's avatar

So there’s no “list” huh? No further disclosure of the visitors to Camp Epstein…?

Add that to the fact that Epstein apparently killed himself with materials that were not supposed to be in his cell, surveilled by video cameras that mysteriously didn’t work that night, and checked on by prison guards that didn’t check on him. Just another series of coincidences. Nothing to see here. How about those Yankees?

Michael, kick ass and take names! Real journalism at its finest! This is your calling. You are the best! I love the daily updates!

Disgusting! I feel so betrayed. Again. This is the biggest black eye imaginable for the Trump Administration. The Swamp is officially full to the brim.

Thanks to Michael S. For his fearless reporting. Please keep up the pressure.

Incredible writing. Thank you for your integrity and courage. I have great trust in Trump, but this trust must be upheld by his actions and the the actions of his administration. None of this passes the smell test--we all know there's so much more to this. Please continue to call for congress to act as well. Together, Trump and congress have s responsibility to out this crime.

Timothy Wallace's avatar

To set the record straight, Epstein was tied to Mossad; the Israeli intelligence service (akin to the CIA).

Boris Petrov's avatar

And - publishing E-files would increase “antisemitism”…… 😂😂🤡🤡

Timothy Wallace's avatar

Though my sense is that Mossad isn’t into sharing.

I'm sure he was a freelance pedophile trafficker that worked for all of them.

Well and bravely stated! We must demand the restoration of our Constitutional liberties now or passively accept the murder of the American Republic by the autocratic, anti-American forces of the Deep State. The November 1963 Coup d’état will be completed unless we act immediately.

Bobjohnson's avatar

Absolutely correct! Pull back the curtain and fire, impeach, etc., those running interference. Fire them all!

Thoughtful Reader's avatar

If we’re waiting on Congress to do anything, the cause is lost.

KurtOverley's avatar

Whew! For a while there I thought we were in danger from a powerful Pedo ring controlled by the Intel Community, so thank goodness Epstein killed himself and had no clients.

Debbie Lerman's avatar

As Whitney Webb has documented, Trump is most likely implicated in the Epstein files. The deep state is not partisan. It is also not just the intelligence agencies. It is, as the popularizer of the term Michael Lofgren explained in 2014, the merger of the military industrial complex, Wall Street, and silicone valley, operating in an extra-constitutional space where budgets are dark and no oversight applies. The deep state operates to accrue resources and power for itself, with no interest in partisan politics, except to distract and manipulate the public. Trump can be a target at some points and a partner at others, as are all the captured politicians of both parties.

As someone intimately familiar with the IC as well as a long-time Trump (and Constitutional) loyalist, I suspect Pam, Kash and Bongino may be wondering how to back the hell out of this cul-de-sac of "transparency." I further suspect the IC has thrown up a cordon around the release, citing "sources and methods," "disclosure poses revelatory harm to ongoing U.S. national security concerns" etc.etc. And frankly, given the nature of the case surrounding the Epstein Files, that MAY, in fact, be true! Afterall, as hard as it may be to accept, the goal of intelligence is not transparency.
